Volunteer Positions

Membership on the Anderson Mill Barracudas Team requires that families commit to a minimum of 12 hours per swimmer of Volunteer Hours, capped at 40 hours per familyor pay $100 per swimmer non-Volunteer Hours fee.. The Volunteer Hours can be accomplished by signing up for various positions on the Event schedule. If you have questions about any of the positions, please contact Barnet Hellman, Volunteer Coordinator.

♦ I understand that I am required to complete a minimum of 12 hours of Volunteer Service per swimmer capped at 40 hours per family in total each season. Failure to do so will result in an additional charge of $100 (or $8.33 per hour) per swimmer. I may opt-out of this commitment by paying the $100 per swimmer non-Volunteer Hours fee during registration.

♦ Families of scholarship recipients are required to fulfill a minimum of 16 service hours per swimmer capped at 40 hours per family in total each season. Failure to fulfill the service hour requirement will result in being invoiced for the award portion of the registration fees. Scholarship family recipients may not opt-out of this Volunteer Hours commitment.

♦ Earned volunteer hours CANNOT be transferred, donated, or otherwise given to another account unless approved by Volunteer Coordinator in advance.

PARENT LEADERSHIP VOLUNTEER POSITION

We are looking for a few special Barracuda families to help us throughout the season.

These positions offer families a way to volunteer outside of Meet days.

Each position counts toward four (4) hours or more of your volunteer requirement.

~~Alamo Drafthouse Movie Outing~~ – Promote event to increase participation, assist Sponsorship representative and work with Alamo Drafthouse to plan/execute event, distribute flyers, and check families in at event. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Banquet Tickets~~ – Promote event to increase participation, assist 2nd Vice President to plan/execute event, distribute and collect order forms, distribute flyers and check families in at event. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Bingos~~ – Assist Sponsorship representative in communicating schedule/recipients of prizes for bingos, download bingos report from website, and label/distribute awards in family folder bins. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

"Buddies" Program – Promote the 15 - 17 boys/girls to become buddies with 6 & Under boys/girls. Promote event to increase participation and coordinate activities during meets for "buddies".

~~Carb Loading Party~~ – Assist 2^nd Vice President to promote event to increase participation, monitor check-in sheet for coaches/special guests at event, and communicate with location personnel regarding event confirmation and food charges (receipt needed) paid by team for coaches/special guests . ~~Check-In / AAU Insurance Verification~~ – Assist Board and Coaches for first two weeks of practice checking in swimmers for verification of AAU Insurance. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Chili’s Night~~ – Promote event to increase participation, assist Sponsorship representative and work with Chili's to plan/execute event, distribute flyers and check families in at event, and pick up check after event. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Coaches as Ice Cream Sundaes~~ – Assist Sponsorship representative to promote event to increase participation, work with event sponsor to plan/execute event, communicate with Swim-A-Cross coordinator for list of swimmers who get to decorate coaches. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Coaches’ Gifts~~ – Communicate need and coordinate the collection of donations from families for the Coaches' gift fund, purchase coaches' gifts, and assist President with presentation of coaches' gift at End of Season Banquet. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Concessions - Financial Reporting~~– Collect, secure, and count concessions proceeds. Communicate results via spreadsheet,

Separate proceeds from petty cash, make deposits, and return concessions box ready for next use. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Divisional / Invitational T-Shirts~~ – Promotes the sale of T-Shirts, assist NWSC representative with distribution and collection of order forms, and deliver T-Shirts. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Donated Beverages Coordinator~~ – Promote event to increase participation at kick-off and during practices before Time Trials and first home meet. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Event Signs at AM and El Salido~~ – Hang up event signs at pools, monitor condition/maintenance/location of signs, and remove signs after event. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Extreme Fun Outing~~ – Promote event to increase participation, assist Sponsorship representative and work with Chili's to plan/execute event, distribute flyers and check families in at event, and pick up check after event. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Home Meet Announcements~~ – Assist Sponsorship and Membership representatives to compile, type up, and print out announcements for announcer at all Home meets. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Kudos to Our 'Cuda Coaches – Assists Secretary in completing tasks for the "Kudos to our 'Cuda Coaches" program to recognize good coaching behaviors. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Invitationals Athletes’ Snack Bags/Coaches’ Hospitality~~ – Collect items for and decorate/create snack bags for Invitational Athletes’ and coaches. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Invitationals National Anthem Contest – Assist NWSC representative to promote event to increase participation, make posters to communicate contest, and work with Sponsorship representative to acquire special awards for AMST contest participants.

~~Longfellow the Whale~~ – Assist 2nd Vice President in pick-up/drop-off of mascot suit, escorting mascot during Swim-A-Cross week, and working with Head Coach to find mascot volunteer for each day/session. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Photography~~ – Take photographs at all swim team functions and provide/submit photos to Membership representative on CD/flash drive every two weeks for use in creating end of season slideshow. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Posters for Home/Away Meets & Divisionals~~ – Assist Membership representative to promote and increase participation in poster making activities for Meets and Divisionals. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Raffle Ticket Vendor~~ – Sell raffle tickets at all team functions to promote fundraising activity. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Special Parking Permits/Raffle Winner Parking Spot~~ – Assist Volunteer Coordinator with parking permits and raffle winner parking spot. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Sprinkles Day Out~~ – Promote event to increase participation, assist Sponsorship representative and work with Sprinkles to plan/execute event, distribute flyers and check families in at event, and pick up check after event. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Spirit Cheers/Spirit Stick – Assist Membership representative to promote event to increase participation at pep rallies and meets.

~~Sponsorship Signs / Banners~~ – Assist Sponsorship representative in hanging up, taking down, and transporting of signs/banners at meets and team events and monitor condition/maintenance of signs/banners. NO LONGER AVAILABLE

~~Swim-A-Cross~~ - Promotes the American Red Cross Swimming event. Coordinates the swimmers for
