Your child must be at least 4, but not older than 17, as of May
1st, 2010. Previous swim team experience is not necessary; however
the swim team is not to be used as "swim lessons". We do ask
that your child know the basic freestyle stroke (but not
necessarily perfectly) and be able to swim across the pool
(widthwise). Each swimmer will be required to compete in a
minimum of two (2) dual meets and the Divisional meet.
Parents are asked to volunteer a minimum three shifts per swimmer
(up to 12 hours) in various positions during our Saturday meets. We
do have a few positions available which do not require attendance
at the meets, if Saturday attendance is a problem. Without
parental help, we could not run anything! Training is provided for
all positions...so don’t be shy!
If you are interested in making a donation toward the AMST Taj
Renee Brown Memorial Fund Scholarship, please go to
Donations.
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please go
to
Documents | Scholarship Fund
to download an application. The scholarship deadline is May 1,
2010. Scholarship applicants may register online on or after
May 8, 2010 when scholarships are announced and awarded.
PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER ONLINE BEFORE THIS DATE IF YOU PLAN TO APPLY
FOR A SCHOLARSHIP BY THE DEADLINE OF MAY 1, 2010.
Anderson Mill offers a Developmental Team which will have two
Tuesday meets. Our Head Coach, Jamee Stewart, determines which
swimmers would benefit from this program. Normally swimmers
who are 11 and older are not candidates for the Developmental Team.
After June, all swimmers will be placed on the Saturday
team.
Although we are a Summer Recreational Team, we are serious about
our competitions and urge every swimmer and their parents to be
100% committed to the team. This will ensure your swimmer
will have a great experience and, who knows? They might become an
Olympic Champion some day!
