Please check our website periodically for updates to the practice schedule due to weather.
Practice delays or cancellation will occur when either weather situation exists: lightning (sighted or possibly near) and/or hard rain.
If lightning is seen, or if thundering is loud overhead, practice will be called for 30 minutes. Light rain without lightning does not warrant a delay or cancellation; hard rain that prevents a lifeguard from seeing the bottom of the pool will cause practice delays or cancellation.
Practice will not be cancelled due to light rain alone; we will swim in the rain.
If practices are not canceled but precipitation exists, please be aware:
1) if lightening or thunder exist, the pool will be cleared
2) the pool will remain clear until 30 minutes after the last thunder or lightening
3) the water temperature will be cooler than normal due to precipitation and falling temperatures (consider using a "warm belly" or a wet suit to avoid getting sick)
4) the "feels like" temperature will be cooler than normal due to precipitation and falling temperatures (consider dressing warmer to avoid getting sick)
5) the pool deck and surrounding areas may be more hazardous due to the wet conditions (be careful)
6) drive time may be affected by the weather so allow a few extra minutes to arrive to practice early (be careful)

2012 AMST Barracuda Registration is NOW OPEN for Returning and New Members!
New Members and Returning Members who did not meet the minimum requirement during the 2011 season, may begin registering on Monday, April 2, 2012 through Sunday, June 10, 2012.
Beginning Wednesday, May 2, 2012 an additional $25 per swimmer is added to the registration fees.
** Please note that Volunteer Minimum Requirements have changed for the 2012 swim season (See Volunteer Policy). Most Volunteer Job Sign ups are now available. Please check back later for Divisional volunteer job sign up. If you are having difficulty finding volunteer shifts, please email volunteer@swimcudas.org.
